Since then, Medics First has grown to include a fleet of 10 ambulances and employ a team of over 40 paramedics, EMTs, and office staff. It offers the latest medical technology in the hands of highly-skilled clinicians who are dedicated to providing compassionate care. In August of 2019, Medics First was purchased by Advanced Medical Transport, a nationally-accredited and recognized regional Emergency Medical Services provider, based in central Illinois. As a member of the AMT family, Medics First will become Springfield’s first not-for-profit ambulance service, operated for community benefit, and guided by a community-based Board of Directors.

Chance previously served as Vice President of Strategy for Advanced Medical Transport.

Now, as a subsidiary company of Advanced Medical Transport, Inc., Medics First will continue to grow and move forward, providing the highest quality delivery of health and community care services in the region. The company will bring a commitment to the area, building strong, long-term relationships and investment in the community.

Direction and oversight of the company comes from the Springfield community itself, by the way of a diverse Board of Directors comprised of local leaders and stakeholders from business, government and healthcare.
