Peoria, IL based Advanced Medical Transport, Inc (AMT) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Medics First of Springfield, IL. Founded in 2008, Medics First provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance service in Springfield. The company currently has a fleet of 11 ambulances and a team of over 40 full-time EMS professionals. With this purchase, Medics First becomes Springfield’s first and only not-for-profit provider of emergency and non- emergency prehospital healthcare.

Chance previously served as Vice President of Strategy for Advanced Medical Transport.
Now, as a subsidiary company of Advanced Medical Transport, Inc., Medics First will continue to grow and move forward, providing the highest quality delivery of health and community care services in the region. The company will bring a commitment to the area, building strong, long-term relationships and investment in the community. Direction and oversight of the company will come from the Springfield community itself, by the way of the recruitment of a diverse Board of Directors comprised of local leaders and stakeholders from business, government and healthcare.
